Equifax Secure's eIDverifier
is a remote authentication process providing an equal or greater
accuracy for on-line applications as does off-line, one-on-one
identity verification. It is a highly accurate, economical,
on-line identity validation. Run-time results allow you to
validate consumers and continue transactions within minutes.
Your branding is maintained throughout, as all pages may display
your logo.
Where identity is the issue, eIDverifier
makes it simple.

 |
| Equifax Secure's remote authentication
engine, eIDverifier, allows you to authenticate the identity
of individuals accessing your web-site. While other on-line
processes simply verify information, they are not able to match
information with actual applicants. |
| The authentication program produces
an assessment score and reason codes by making a comparison
of consumer-provided information with Equifax and other industry
datasources. Acceptable risk cutoff levels are determined by
our customers to fit their industry and their business requirements.
|
| eIDverifier saves time and money, and
adds value. The automated, run-time nature of Equifax Secure's
authentication procedure allows rapid, secure processing of
applicants. It saves customers the cost of an in-house support
staff, while increasing the reliability of the results. |
 |
 |
 |
| Equifax Secure authentication verifies a user's
identity in a simple, real-time process, accessing multiple
databases in a matter of seconds. With eIDverifier, validating
the identity of your customer is as easy as one, two, three… |
 |
|
One:
The user completes and
submits an on-line application form. eIDverifier performs
edits and validations on the data elements supplied by the
consumer and then verifies key data fields. Additionally, the consumer-supplied data is compared
to the content of multiple databases.
|
 |
Two:
The Equifax Secure authentication engine displays a multiple-choice
questionnaire compiled from information managed by consumer
and business information sources. These questions can include
elements from the user's financial history. The user then completes
and submits the multiple-choice questionnaire form. |
 |
Three:
A series of algorithms are run comparing the consumer-supplied
information to the datasources, and the consumer responses to
the multiple-choice questionnaire to determine if the person
is who he or she claims to be. If the engine can verify the
user's identity, the user moves to the next step in the customer-defined
application process. If eIDverifier cannot verify the identity,
the user is directed to complete the identity verification process
manually. |
 |
| Because consumers may opt-out of authentication at any time, all information gathered during authentication is logged. A reconciliation file is generated daily that documents data from all transactions, both completed and abandoned. |
 |
 |
 |
| Traditional, wallet-based information, used on-line,
can only show that such a person may exist. It is unable to
demonstrate that the actual individual is the person conducting
the on-line transaction. Fake or stolen information cannot be
detected until after fraud has occurred. By ensuring that the
data itself is legitimate, eIDverifier immediately takes identity
validation to a higher, more accurate level. Left there, however,
it would still be subject to fraudulent use. |
 |
| The patent-pending technology used
in the Interactive Query leads to highly accurate, dependable
results. Moreover, because customers themselves establish which
score level is accepted, they can raise their level of fraud
protection as high as they need it to be. |
 |
| Because this information may also be rapidly verified by secure industry datasources, authentication can take place quickly and accurately. Its run-time, secure nature means that more consumers can be authenticated in less time. |
 |
 |
 |
| In many business applications, identity validation is a starting point for establishing a long-term, secure relationship. Other Equifax Secure services may be used in combination with Authentication to provide a solution to meet your unique business needs. |
 |
 |
Phone Authentication:
Customers have the option to redirect consumers to their
call centres. Users unable
to authenticate their identity on-line may complete the
process by phone. The final on-line screen will provide
a number to call.
An operator will review the information and ask the user
additional validating questions. |
 |
 |
 |
Credit evaluation: In order to
confirm both identity and credit worthiness, customers
may elect to perform a credit evaluation in addition to
authentication. Decision Navigator may be initiated either
before or after authentication. Both results are transmitted
in run time. |
 |
|
 |
 |
 |
Digital Certificate Issuance: Performing
authentication before issuing a secure certificate increases
the security value of consumer certificates. |
 |
|
 |
 |
 |
Business validations:
eIDverifier is an automated consumer authentication program.
Equifax Secure also offers manual business authentication
as a preliminary to issuing certificates to businesses. |
